Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love creating pieces that are as realistic as possible, especially when they represent places that hold meaning and memories for people. But I also really enjoy leaning into my graphic design background and creating something more imaginative—something built around color and feeling, rather than a specific location. This piece does just that. I picture it adding texture to a gallery wall or bringing a pop of color to a space that needs it.
When I first designed it, the lines in the sky were orange, but since this is a smaller piece, I was worried the mountains and sky would blend too much. So I made a last-minute decision to switch the lines to white, and I’m so glad I did. I’m excited to see where this one ends up.
