I’ve always had a soft spot for the volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest. Mt. Baker was one of the first places I went for a mountaineering expedition, and years later I returned to summit it via the North Ridge—a pretty profound moment in my climbing journey.

This mountain is stunning from so many angles, but I think this view might be the most iconic. The design is simple and clean, which makes it great for smaller spaces, and it’s one of the more compact pieces in this collection.

One of my favorite parts of this piece is the sky. The blue and yellow ropes came from the same climber and were once used as half ropes on various expeditions and ice climbs right here in Montana. I love knowing that the materials carry a story of their own—and now, that story continues through this artwork.
