This mountain was actually suggested by one of you, which is one of my favorite parts of this process. I really do read the comments and emails you send with ideas, and when this peak came across my inbox I immediately looked it up and knew it had to become a rope piece.
Peak C is all about strong lines and bold contrast. The towering rock faces of Colorado create these incredible leading lines that naturally pull your eye through the piece. When I started laying out the design, everything just seemed to line up. The composition, the color palette, the rule of thirds. Sometimes a piece just falls into place and this was one of those.
The deep red sky in the background was inspired by those smoky sunsets we often see during fire season in the Rockies. It creates this dramatic contrast against the rugged stone and adds a bit of intensity to the landscape.
Like all my work, this piece is made from 100% retired climbing rope, giving each line texture, depth, and a second life beyond the climb.
