When I first sat down to design this piece, I was thinking about the Three Sisters in Oregon—but then I remembered there’s another set of Three Sisters in Alberta, Canada. I realized I had never created a piece of them before, and it felt like the perfect subject for a smaller, moodier design. I’m really happy with how it turned out.
 
I haven’t seen these mountains in person yet, but they’re definitely on my list. As a climber and ice climber, I know the Canadian Rockies just a few hours north of me are full of possibilities, and making this piece only added to my desire to get up there and explore.
 
This design carries a stormy, dramatic energy that reminds me of those classic mountain thunderstorms that roll in like clockwork on summer evenings. It’s subtle, a little broody, and made to feel like the calm just before the weather hits.
