There are some mountain ranges that feel almost unreal when you stand beneath them, and for me the Tetons have always been one of those places. Sharp granite walls, dramatic light, lingering snowfields, and that feeling that the mountains are rising straight out of the valley floor. They feel rugged and wild, but also strangely sacred, which is where this piece found its name.
This design was all about layering. Warm rock tones, cool glacier blues, soft greens, and shifting skies all woven together to create movement throughout the piece. I wanted it to feel expansive while still drawing your eye inward toward the peaks themselves. The circular composition almost feels like looking through a window or holding a landscape in your hands.
Like all my work, this piece is made from 100% retired climbing rope, giving old rope a second life beyond the climb. Every line and color shift carries texture and history, helping bring this wild mountain cathedral to life.
