This piece was all about simplicity. Over time, I have noticed my work becoming more intricate and layered, a natural and beautiful progression as an artist, but for this one I wanted to strip things back. I aimed to capture that original, early-work feel, focusing on clean lines, bold shapes, and a quieter composition.
 
The subject is Mt. Adams in Washington, a peak I have never summited and, surprisingly, have never made art of before. I have created pieces of so many other PNW volcanoes that it felt like it was finally time for Adams to have its moment. Sometimes less is more, and in this case, the simplicity lets the mountain speak for itself.
