I designed this piece quite a while ago. I remember thinking how amazing it would be to try to capture the northern lights over one of my favorite mountains, but I was not quite sure how I would do it.
 
When some new rope was donated to my collection and it just happened to be the perfect northern lights colors, I knew it was time to bring this idea to life.
 
I was not sure if this piece would actually convey the northern lights well. Every time I try something new with rope art, it always feels like a gamble whether people will understand what I am trying to show. Honestly, I cannot imagine it turning out any better. There was definitely some ripping up rope and a few design changes halfway through, but in the end, I am super happy with how it all came together.
